The bath, start to finish, on Union Turnpike

The Spa Bath Package is the bath-only appointment at 180-08 Union Turnpike in Fresh Meadows. Your dog is washed, dried and brushed, gets an ear clean and a nail trim, and finishes with a tidy up trim. There is no haircut in this package.

The tidy up trim is the sanitary trim between the eyes and paws. It keeps a dog neat without changing the length of the coat. Anal gland expression is also part of the package, by request only, so mention it when you book if your dog needs it.

Which dogs suit a bath without a haircut

The Spa Bath works for smooth-coated dogs and for dogs that are between haircuts and just need to come out clean and fresh. Smooth-coated bath-only dogs do not need the Matted Release Form, which keeps the paperwork short: the New Client Registration form and current vaccination records are still required.

Extra brush-outs and extra de-shedding are additional fees, so a thick or heavily shedding coat can change what the bath costs. Marie's does not publish a flat price, because price follows size, breed and temperament. The pricing page lists the additional fees, and you can text (718) 380-7387 for a range.

Brushing at home, and booking two weeks ahead

A few minutes of brushing at home between baths keeps the coat loose and easy to work through, and that is the best protection against mats forming close to the skin. A coat that comes in clean and combed makes for a calmer, faster bath on the table.

Please book at least two weeks ahead. Current clients book online through the Square booking page. New clients start by emailing mariespetgrooming@gmail.com or texting (718) 380-7387 with their name, their dog's name, breed, rough weight and a cell number. Marie's is by appointment only, Tuesday to Sunday, closed Mondays.
